PS: In my review I will try to satisfy all the people. so please read it carefully..
First the history, I bought my unicorn 1 month back. before buying I did 3 months of survey about pulser and unicorn. I read almost all the reviews here and there and then finally I choose unicorn. And which I think is one of the best decisions I took.
Now the geography ( :)) , My dealer (in bangalore) took only 2 days to deliver the bike. If anyone wants to know about the dealer then mail me seperately.
(this was the reply to all those review in which they have written that their dealer isn’t cooperative and blah blah blah)
Coming to the bike, I will first mention its shortcomings and then will move into the pros.
The fuel tank lock comes out when u are filling the petrol. This is definitely bad in comparision to pulser who has a nice looking fuel tank Cap. I think nobody has mentioned this point yet.
The seat of the bike has difficulty in coming out. and if it come out then gives u trouble in going in. I remember the incident when one traffic policeman stopped me for vehicle papers. As I put those under the seat, I was trying to pull the seat, but failed for next 5 minutes. Then the policeman asked me to go without looking papers. (Isnt the idea good, if you dont have papers sometime) :)
The Fuelmeter always remains below the empty level even if you fill the tank with 3 litres of fuel. You will not have any idea how much petrol the bike has? it will always be below the red mark..
Believe me I am still trying to find out any other cons, but couldnt find any yet.
Now the Pros, there are galore.. :)
As u can see from the heading, my bike has completed 1000 Kms, And I havent heard any sound yet. I am still trying to hear those special sounds coming from the taillamp which have been heard by some of my Orkut unicorn reviewer friends. :))
Also I am still failing to shake with the bike as others are with their greater than 1000Km used up bike. Well I will surely let u know about it as soon as that day turns up.
I wont tell more about the engine as enough is told about that and I agree with all that. My analogy: just like moving your finger in water. Smooth.....
About the looks department, People says the bike dont have the aggressive looks and honda played it safe and blah blah blah.. but I must say one of my female friends said she is impressed by the looks of the bike ...
About the mileage, Before first service it was somewhere around 48Kmpl, given the lovely bangalore traffic on airport road. After first service it started 54 Kmpl.
And I remember somebody told the disk brakes are not as good as pulser. Well check it out dude I guess it is with ur bike only...
About the gears somebody wrote long back the he was not able to find neutral and
the gear shift wasnt smooth enough. Then let me tell u unicorn has the smoothest gear shift available in any bikes available in market. In bangalore traffic I make frequent gear shifts and I faced no problem yet.
Regarding horn someone told that it is of very less sound. So my reply to that is guys why do you want to be the part of noise pollution. This vehicle is disigned to be conformed to noise standard, be it the engine sound or the horn. so go enjoy the lesser noise pollution.. :)
And the most importent point which none has mentioned yet is the ERGO of the bike. Believe me the sitting position is such that u are always at right angle to the ground. This is opposite to pulser in which u seems to lean forward. so lesser back pain in longer rides. :)
But my suggestion is please dont accelerate it more than 50kmph before u complete 500 Kms. And dont give full throttle till that time (though I found it hard to do that..). but if u are able to come out of that, then u are going to be the king of the roads. :)
I Don’t know if I have satiated all ur queries...well if I have then please let me know abt it, I will definitely update the review.
And in the last, whatever u guys think about the review, go ahead and rate it please. Also take your discretion before you make any decision.
