Honda X Blade Initial Impessions

Users of Unicorn 160 and Hornet 160R will connect this bike very well. The ride and engine feel is very much same but the smoothness is high.The bike feels really big, But it only gives the feel like that but it is as nimble and light as 100 cc motorcycle, Coming to bike the bike is refreshing in looks. The paint quality and fiber used is very much improved. Surprisingly the bike feels lot more smoother than the hornet. Suspension is very good.The bike comes with improved material quality of Chain and Sprockets compared to existing hornet. Honda calls it low maintenance chain. The bike is full DC lighting.Mechanic told me that there are extra hubs provide for additional Electrical accessories, want to try later. This bike exhaust sound is just next to Apache 200. It sounds very nice at different speeds.The gear shift indicator works really well and the gearbox is the best.Its definitely way better than gixxer. Now running in Honda stock mineral oil 10W30, will have to switch to Motul or Throttle after free services, will keep updated.


Back seat and back mono suspension is not hard and comfortable for rear passenger. After long time seeing a very good pillion seat in 150cc bike.The stock seat cushion is adequate and seat cover is decent. Showroom guy charged me extra 2300 for engine splash guard, side hangers, rear grab rail type 2. There were many accessories 10 of them available in the phamplet I choose few. But he told they will order now and I can fit it during 1st free service after a month .


The top speed is little less upto max 105 only. Did not try above as its a new one.But we can easily reach 90 to 95 kmph without any vibration at all, which is sufficient for any roads. LED Headlight is super at night. Getting some bike colors is problem, like the military green which the most good looking according to me and wait time for it is high.


Mileage is 48 to 50 kmpl


Cons: It is not serious but the bike do not have an engine off / on aka kill switch. The front suspension is good in bad roads, but in hard braking in moderate speeds it dives too much, which some may not like.


High speed cornering is not inspiring as Hornet or Gixxer.But it’s more than enough for practical use.


This bike is best for city and highway-cruising and for bad and little off roads especially with pillion because of ample ride height and ground clearance.
