Cleaning Carpets Made Easy With Hoover Cleaner

With kids and a husband in the house messes are made all the time. Whether those messes are in the bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, floors or carpet. Spills happen all the time as well. Certainly when my kids spill something on the floor it’s easy to clean up. But, when something gets spilled into the carpets it takes a little bit more to clean.

When my son spills something he freaks out! he is always afraid of what I may do. My little man has learned that Mama is not going to yell at him, accidents happen all the time and getting the spills up are doable. There is no need to yell at a child for spilling something, gets you nowhere. Just clean it up or teach the child to do so. Make a game out of it.

Most spills can be gotten up with a towel or paper towel. There are some spills though that will leave an odor behind like milk for instance. I always get those milk spills up quickly.

Now, we all have different ways to get up spills but what about the cleaner you use to shampoo your carpet? What do you use? There are lots of brands out there to choose from and believe me I have tried many over the years and I like a few of them. I have a Kirby® Vacuum Cleaner that has a shampooer that I use for cleaning the carpets.

Use to, the Kirby® company didn’t recommend any other cleaners in their units except their brand. Today, that has changed. So I figured why not try a different cleaner in mine and see. Now, mind you I have used different cleaners in my Kirby® before but they didn’t seem to clean as well. But, this Hoover Cleaner cleaned my carpets really well and I was very impressed.

The Product

Hoover® SteamVac™ Carpet/Upholstery Detergent if for deep cleaning machines that helps reduce the allergens caused by dust mites, pollen, dust and pet dander. It helps to deep clean, brighten and deodorize your carpets. You can use it with all types of deep cleaning machines. It is also biodegradable and the concentrated solution is formulated to effectively reduce common household Allergens without causing harm to your carpets.

Directions

This is very easy. Vacuum your carpets first. You should shake the product before use. add about 5 ounces of cleaner into the cleaning tank of your machine and fill to the fill line with hot water. That’s it. You should follow the directions of your unit before shampooing carpets. Hot water is the big key in helping this detergent to work well.

Cautions

Taken from the container: “ Contains Anionic and Nonionic Surfactants. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes flush with warm water. If irritation persists, call a physician. Keep out of reach of children.”

Container, Cost and Company

The container is plastic, white in color with a red cap. The cap twists off. The Hoover® name is found on the top of the blue label. Just look for their famous “Hoover® Circle”. The container also has a handle on it for easy use. And this bottle will last a long time.

The cost is around $16.00 for a 128 oz container. Mine was a Christmas gift though from my neighbor. She had lots of it and gave me one of them.

How I Feel

I don’t like shampooing carpets that is for sure. But, since I have found a cleaner that will make my carpets look clean and smell clean and a carpet detergent that will not harm my carpets it has become easier to shampoo. Hubby is good at helping me as well. With having FMS things are little difficult to do now days. But, finding products that make my life easy is a good thing and this is one of those products.

It does not have a strong smell but a very pleasant, clean smell. And the entire house smells clean after using. With my Kirby® shampooer, I follow the directions on the unit for cleaning carpets and I have found that this cleaner will foam while using with my Kirby®, and this means that it is working with my unit. My cleaner also picks up all the water and dirt from the carpet leaving a very clean and healthy carpet behind.

The Hoover® Cleaner helps the carpet to dry in about 2 hours, which is not to bad. My carpets look and smell clean! (I do suggest that you test an area of carpet before use to make sure the colors don’t strip out.)

Like I stated earlier, I have used many brands over the years of carpet shampoo but I have found that I like this one the best.

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.

God Bless!
