This is a very endearing movie which has a mushy dose of romance in it !!! If you are a romance buff , I would recommend this movie for you !! This movie is what Mills and Boon stuff is made off. Well you can watch this movie alone or with your friends .. but your friends have to be broad minded and well then it will be cool !!
Watching this movie with your spouse ?? hmmmm you could take a rain check on that if your spouse is an action buff or a mystery buff. My husband fell asleep halfway through the movie. ;) Sandra Bullock is very convincing in her role of a distraught and confused woman going through the woes of seperation and divorce after a long marriage .
Plot Revealed:
This movie is about Birdie( Sandra Bullock) who was the prom queen had everything going for her. Marriage to college sweetheart, a nice home and a family. She has a daughter who loves her daddy a lot. She lived in a small town before marriage with her parents and was envied by everyone there because of her success.
The story starts with the break up of her marriage. This
break up gets broadcasted on the television and everyone gets to know about this including the people in her hometown. Birdie comes to live with her daughter in her mother’s place in her hometown where she was so famous and now infamous.
There she starts looking for a job and she faces the taunts and the ’poor you ’ looks and after much struggle she gets into a job. And all the while everyone does not forget to remind her of her successful past and a very poor present. During this course she meets this man Harry Connik who is her only friend besides her mom.
She has to convince her daughter that daddy is not coming back .. there is quite a lot of interaction with Birdie and her daughter which is very typical in American families.. and this is shown very well...Anyway ... all is well that ends well. She gets a divorce and gets Harry as a long time friend and lover and all of them live happily ever after....
This movie has a message though, that life is not always the same and even when you are surrounded with complicated and depressing situtaion you can survive if you have hope !!! Watch this movie when you have time in your hand and you are feeling real romantic !!! you will not be disappointed !!!!
