Horseland is a good choice to make @ matheran. although this is one of the luxury properties it is worth the money spent.
The property is strategically located near the market and has it’s own quiet ambiance. The huge spread fits in a children’s garden, a open restaurant, swimming pool and table tennis tables. A hammock in the garden is a great place to relax.
The rooms are neat and most of the basic service like water, AC and bathroom is in good working condition. No complaints.
I didn’t really get a chance to experience the room service because most of our meals were on the buffet
The waiters are courteous and well mannered with a good sense of hospitality. Nice.
Food is surely a winner @ this hotel. Good vegetarian food with a fair variety is served during the weekend. Although the oil usage is a bit too high.
The swimming pool is big and nice, and one must appreciate the hard work put in to maintain it’s cleanliness. the leaves keep dropping from the trees which cover the pool. but the efficient attendant makes great effort to get each one out.
on the long busy weekend they had some good arrangements made for the kids like juggler show, magic show and movie screenings keeping the kids busy in the hotel itself. a great relief for parents.
When booking at the hotel, check for the deal where ALL MEALS are included. This way you save money and also the effort to walk up to the market every time you want to have a meal.
