Hotel Aakashdeep - Where I lost my sleep !

India is land of amalgamation of different people belonging to various castes & cultures. This is a plus point & we have failed miserably to exploit this advantage to global tourism industry.Main reason for this is poor infrastructure, no tourism helplines, hotels & lodges fail to live up to its reputation.Example of this I am going to elaborate in the next couple of paragraphs.I visited Dehradun recently & was searching for a hotel to spend the night .I zeroed in on HOTEL AAKASHDEEP, located on tyagi road.My experience was like spending night in a BIG BOSS RESIDENCE.I will keep it short & to the point .

Location:- It is approximately 5 km from the ISBT of dehradun & 500 meters from railway station. One can take an auto / vikram which will charge 40 / 7 INR respectively.

Rooms:-It has rooms which are poorly ventilated and there is no provision of sunlight to even peek through .Dampness & mosquitoes combined with poorly maintained furniture made my day a complete hellish kinda of experience.TV had a front panel without the cover & toilet seat was unhygenic with a leaking tank.

Food:- I decided to give it a miss as the restaurant did’t had that inviting decor .Also the furniture & table linen was poorly maintained.

Staff:-Unfriendly & lethargic in executing work.TV was out of order & it took them two persons and couple of hours to rectify the problem.Totally unprofessional and untrained.Even they did’t cared to widh guests good morning .

Rent:- Overly priced & every penny spent appeared waste.I was made to pay 950/- for a days stay.

Other amenities:-My room had an AC fitted which appeared to be of atleast ten years old.And was not working as there was no electricity .

I will advice to all my readers that kindly avoid this hotel at all costs. Its far much better to spend night in a tent under an open sky rather than spending this much on this shitty place.

Thanks
