I had the chance to stay at Hotel Alka a couple of weeks back. First thing that came to my mind was ’wow what a location’. Right in the heart of CP. Market, no problem. Food... McDonalds, Sarvana Bhawan are right next door. Hotel staff was courteous. Room was a bit on the smaller side but it had a great sofa cum bed too. Not to mention a very pretty balcony with a view where one could enjoy a pleasent evening with a drink in one hand. Air conditioning was so so. Now to come to the important point...bathroom. T
he loo was also a bit on the smaller side, but it was CLEAN, but a power plug for the hair dryer was not there so my wife’s hair dryer had to be plugged in the room and that too in the socket for the referigerator! Clean towels and the works were provided in the loo.Rent was a bit steep, but considering the location I did not mind. Palika Bazaar was a couple of minute’s walk and there was plenty for the kids to do around the hotel.
All in all...worth staying there. Ok value for money.
