Since I was working abroad, every year when I come yo India on vacation with family, we used to go for atleast a week trip. It was one such trip four years back. Mine and my brother in law family had planned and visited Munnar and Thekkady. Though Munnar stay was fine, Ambadi Hotel in Thekkadi was a very bad experience. I don’t see its worth for money. We booked a deluxe suit type for us. Inside the rooms, we could able to see leeches and termites. I complained to the shift incharge. They told that morning when we leave out, they would do fumigation. That night it was a nightmare for us. Lot of mosquitoes rounded up us and we didn’t sleep properly. The next day early morning we had scheduled to leave for Jeep safari. Due to lack of sleeping, we had a very tough time after we came back. We felt extremely tired and was vomiting. Also their inhouse restaurant was slightly expensive and the food taste was horrible. The hotel receptionist couldn’t provide us any tour details properly. He couldn’t communicate with us properly in english. Since we didn’t know malayalam, we found it very difficult to ask our queries. Overall it was a bad stay and I won’t recommend it for my friends.
