The Hotel Blue Diamond is a diamond in the line of Hotels in Pune.
I do not know why it was named blue.
First time the food was tasted in a party thrown for a senior bureaucrat by some other bureaucrats. I liked the vegetarian stuff.
But I liked the decor better than the food.
The line up of vintage beauties in its parking space on the occasion of a vintage car rally, was another occasion to marvel at the Hotel’s reputation.
Then I again tasted its food and service in a party thrown for the visiting Indian and Sri Lankan cricketers by the Maharashtra Cricket Association.
This was in the evening.
The garden to the right of the Hotel was the venue. It was glittering with lights.
The meeting with various Indian and Sri Lankan cricketing stars, Cammie Smith and other luminaries was the highlight of the dinner. Although, I think I had my fill of the vegetarian food I remember only the cheese-pineapple served as starters.
I know that some M.P.’s also stayed here during an estimates committee meeting.
It has facilities for small romantic evenings, families, big parties and dinners.
It is considered one of the better hotels of Pune.
