I decided for Coorg on the occassion of my first anniversary on the 17th of November. I started off in my Bullet with my wife from bangalore at 5am and reached Kushalnagar by11am. That was a weekend and I tried almost all the hotels(via phone from kushalnagar) in Madikeri, all was in vein. We started off from Kushalnagar early morning next day and on our entrance to the city before 1 km I saw coorg International direction board.
On prior research I knew it was a good one and a star rated one. My other option was Crystal Court. But since saw the signboard of Coorg international first, diverted the bike towards it.
We were so fortunate to have only one room that was available in the entire hotel. The room was nice. It was a standard room, with a nice view of the distance mountains and a small pool side balcony. tariff:2900 inclusive breakfast/evening tea snacks/dinner. Looks like quite moderate rate. The ambience was good.
Would like to mention the name of Keerti, who was extremely helpful at the reception. The staffs were courteous. Food quality was pretty good. I liked their pork zingara. wow !!!! mind blowing and it is at per the vindalha stuff in Goa.
This hotel has almsot all the common ammenities like health club, pool, indoor sports. We got shifted to the family a/c type room the next day, since our room was reserved and kirti told us prior reservation that we will get it for one day only. Now, this family room, we got at the same rent of 2900 instead of 5000 and it was big, too bog with one king size bed and 2 single bed. neat and clean room with american style bathroom.
This hotel is 1.5 km from the city circle and very near to Abbey falls/gaddogi. I found it to be very well positioned/priced/maintaned.
The things I would prefer for my next stay out there are:
Food
Hospitality
Room quality
PORKKKKKKKK !!!!!!... I loved their style of cooking.
Although you will feel a bit burnt in your next month’s credit card bill, still I find it to be worth. Definitely will visit the next time.
