Empire strikes back !

Empire is exactly what the name suggests. This place serves some of the best non-veg food in Bangalore. I found the one on Residency Road much better than the ones in Infantry Road and Shivaji Nagar. The one on residency road is in the 3-quarters Chinese lane. The entrance looks impressive. The very sight of Shwarma being sliced and chicken being grilled in huge grills is appetizing.

The ground floor has fairly good seating arrangements but nice decor. There’s a staircase that leads to the first floor which has a A/C Room. The non A/C section is more spacious than the one downstairs. I prefer that one. This restaurant serves some delicious chicken and mutton gravies. The grilled kebabs are at their best here. The Grilled Chicken (110 bucks) is enough for two. This is one item that is exclusively available in South-India. The Raan (full lamb leg) is priced at (200 bucks). I recommend the Shwarma Rolls (35 bucks) and Mutton Kheema Dosa (65 bucks). It’s nice to find some Turkish and Lebanese cuisine in Bangalore. Bombay is definitely the best destination for Lebanese, Moghlai, Chinese, Spanish and Italian food. The second best place would be Delhi, followed by Bangalore and Trivandrum.

What I like about the Kerala-Moghlai food (it aint the Irani / Peshawari / Afghani food one gets in Bombay) is that they have some really good parantha’s and roti’s which are difficult to find down south. The fish is well prepared and the chicken and mutton are well cooked. At times a few items are not available at certain timings but then there is a lot of variety here.

I would give Empire top rating if the service and ambience was better. Service is one aspect which is a big concern in Bangalore. Out of the 100 odd restaurants I have visited I would rate 5 for excellent service. When I say Service I mean personal attention the way I would pay to my guest at my residence. My next review is about one of the rare restaurants with excellent service till then

...have a nice time enjoying some delicious food at Empire! Guten Appetit !
