I have always been a fan of Ginger hotels. I find their rooms clean, have basic necessities and their room rent is also very reasonable. They are like the Air Deccans of hotel industry. All rooms are standard rooms and no executive, delux or presidential added to the rooms.
Anyway coming to Ginger Guwahati, I found the place upto my expectations. To start with this hotel is situated a bit far from the main town, more on the outskirts. So if you dont have a car at your diposal donot stay in this hotel. There is nothing nearby. The hotel though provides you with drop and pick facility to the nearest busy junction from where u can get transport to anywhere in the city.
But if you have your own car then you will instantly fall in love with this place ( provided you like to stay away from crammped city streets). The hotel has excellent view of the hillocks and paddy fields. The area round this hotel has not been developed into residetial or commercial area. The only building you would find is the Hotel Management campus next door. So for people who like to have good view from their hotel this is the place.
The rooms are standard Ginger rooms. Same double bed, one table, one chair, TV, mini fridge. On business trips one would want a clean room with clean sheets and proper AC. You will get it here.Bathroom is minialistic and clean. Unlike other Ginger hotels, this hotel has room service. The food is excellent. If you stay here do try their continental food. Service is very good and front desk has been very helpful.
if you plan to stay in this hotel, do book online before going. The hotel often runs full house due to corporate booking. On such days its very difficult to get rooms here. Otherwise on your next trip to Guwahati, try out this hotel. You wont be disappointed.
