After finding some details from the internet, we finally decided to check-in to this hotel called ’Glanton Manor’ on Charring Cross, Ooty. On seeing the Reception area and the Restaurant nearby I myself felt good that I have selected a good hotel. After paying the advance (a day’s Rs. 1000 + 10% tax)and entering in, it is literally a shock. These are all the pros and Cons of this hotel.
Pros ------ 1. At the center of the city. 2. Enough car parking area. 3. Can get a room at any time. coz, people once stay here won’t come back again.
Cons ------ 1. Poor ambiance inside the room. As soon as you enter, definitely you feel, why the heck you paid a good amount for this room. 2. This dull ambiance spoils your holiday mood. 3. The room walls are dirty and there are big cracks on that. 4. The furnitures are old with dust on it. 5. Filthy Carpet. 6. Terrible shock is that Hot water will come only between 7am and 9am. Other than this timing, if you want to bath, you have to call up their room service, which will come up with a bucket of hot water after 5-10 mins.
Initially I planned to stay for atleast a couple of days, but I know that there is no point in complaining about their hotel to them, hence vacated on the next day itself. It is NOT a value for your money.
