Valaparai is a beautiful hill Station. The experience of driving around this little hill Station is something of an experience. It is devoid of the tourist rush we see in Ooty or Kodaikanal.
Vast Tea estates encompass/dot the whole territory. But to be here and look for accommodation is something which is difficult. There are no good Lodging options in the main town except Hotel Green Hills Pvt Ltd. Other options come in Splurge Bracket(Estate Homes which come overpriced at 3000 to 4000 per day)
Green Hills is a decent stay. Please do not expect any cozy deluxe rooms as you see in ooty/Kodaikanal. Nature has created Valaparai and we hope it stays like that and I hope there is not much commercialization in this beautiful town.
Room quality was Good. We didn’t expect much, but were very surprised by the quality of the Rooms. The Supervisor was very Good. They have a small restaurant downstairs where they serve food( Mainly Non-Vegetarian fare, Vegetarian, you might get either Noodles/Fried Rice or Chapathis) . If it is nature you want to experiece in Valparai, just forget about the lodging! Come and Experience VALPARAI
