Weekend Getaway

It has been long you have taken me out ..... quipped my sweety and I had no other options but to make hasty plans for a weekend getaway. I searched all the possible places where we can visit. This included Shimla, ooty, Goa, etc. Even at once we were thinking of going to Amarnath !! Now that explain the seriousness of my effort !! Isn’t it ..

Well finally we penned down on Jaipur. Jaipur has a pleasant climate round this time of the year and I felt I should give it a try. Then I logged in into Indiatimes Auctions to look for a good 5 Star Resort/ Hotel in Jaipur. My eyes held on ’’ Hotel Jaipur Palace’’.... As the name suggests, the hotel was build on a palace property of Ancient Jaipur. I got a fair deal for the room and booked a stay for a couple for 3 Nights/ 4 days.

A major upset was awaiting our trip, as I flight HYD-JAI was cancelled just a day before we were supposed to fly. Air Sahara after being acquired by Jet cancelled most of its flights and were cold in its attitude towards ticket refunds and alternate arrangements. But at this stage we couldnt have cancelled the plan as the hotel was Paid and the return tickets done (thru Indian Airlines). So I went to the airport to get an alternate flight to jaipur. I chose jet Airways for HYD- MUMBAI and goAir for MUMBAI-JAI, only coz I had no other options left on just a day before flying.

After all this pain and planning, one expects at least the hotel to be good, clean, friendly and non- interfering. The look of the hotel gave me that feeeling. Once we checked in our room, the belief was strengthened and I thought the decision I took of choosing this hotel over likes like Le Meridien/ Rajputana/Maharani Palace was a fair one.

All we needed was a good , well ventilated room with all the modern aminities, good food, good room service and the things I love the most ... A good bath tub and a wide balcony.. I got them all.

Once I ordered tea early morning and the room service guy didnt bring it even 30 mins after the order. Being dissapointed , I called the room service again and called for an explaination. They told me that the boy came to my room and returned coz ’’Do Not Disturb Board’’ was hung at my door. Now thats professionalism..... Never before I saw such die hard professionalists.. after the point that the order was placed by me only and they could have at least knocked.. I liked that behaviour..

Food was fabulous and the evening folk dance show was an added charm.

Overall the stay at the hotel was peaceful, memorable and non- interfering...

I would recommend ’’ Hotel Japur Palace’’ to all the mouthshut members....
