Malvan at paanch pakahadi is a good restaurent. It is situated at one of the most prominent locations of thane. the look and feel is not up to the mark which if improved can attract many more customers. The ground floor is dingy looking place and in the evening seems to be best suited for drinking crowd. the first floor is also quite dingy, but any food love won’t mind sitting there for a tasty malvani food. the baithak is a good place for a group of people more than 5.
The chiken/ mutton thali are the best things offered incase you are looking for value of money. The mutton bhaat is equally good although the quality and the quantity as per the price charged has reduced in the last few years. The fish fry and the praws masala are good. My personal favourite remains the Mutton sukha with bhakri. The customer service has to be improved. the majority of the waiters are maharashtrian and i’ve noticed that it is difficult for customers to explain them wat they want.
Good that they have changed the language of the menu card now. Overall a good place to have the typical malvani spicy food.
