Good place to stay at Wayanad

We stayed for about 2 days and 2 nights at this hotel in Wayanad. It is in Sulthan Bathery - in a not so centrally located area in Wayanad vis-a-vis Kalpetta. But there was no problem in travelling to the tourist spots of Wayanad from here. There are jeeps right in front of the hotel and also buses from the door step.

Hotel boasts of 3 star facilities. while i’m not exactly sure of what these facilities are I will recommend this to anyone who is looking to spend a reasonable amount and enjoy a good stay. Rooms are almost in the context of a business hotel Air conditioned, with lounge and a bedroom. Room and the bathroom is well maintaind and kep in order with good quality fittings. Just a basic shower and no bath tub etc. Staff is friendly and swift to help you.

Restaurants are one and the same with or without A/C. They provide reasonably good north indian food of what you would find in a small place in Kerala. Standard daals and paneer and veg. kadai are good enought for the palate. They don’t seem to have tandoori rotis and naans and provide only chapathis or the famous "Kerala Parathas/Parotas". Couple fof my North Indian friends did indeed like the "Kerala Paratha" and is worth trying if you don;t mind the maida.

There is a very good bakery attached to the hotel. Try the Marble cake if you happen to visit this place. It is really good. The tea in this bakery is one of the best you will get in Wayanad. The murrukku(chakli as it is called in N.India) is also good hear.

Net-net we had a good exprience at Mintflower and will recommend this place if you are not looking for an extotic resort like experience and is unwilling to spend more on the stay.
