As we were in Darjeeling at the end of December, bookings had to be done in advance. Someone in Silliguri booked us in a hotel called Mohit.
And I sorely regret that decision. Mohit is a terrible hotel that is dull and gloomy and in shambles. It looks shady and the noise of the street is so loud you feel all the hullalaboo is actualy hapening in your room.
In the freezing cold of december we were told that hot water will be availabe only for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. Though on both the days no hot water came in the evening. We went without a bath for two days because it was anyways too cold.
We had to almost fight for fresh towels and napkins and toilet paper on both days.
The bedcovers were sorry and so was the sofa upholstry.
They have a travel desk but no one seems to man it, so we could not get any info about local sight seeing.
The biggest catch is that to book you have to send them and advance and they do not tell this to you but the advance is non refundable. So we were stuck with staying there.
It is over priced because they offer you penuts for the amount of money they take from you.
