Bad experience faced at Hotel Nandhini / Rude behavior of hotel staffI stayed in Hotel Nandhini, R.T. Nagar last week with a friend of mine. We checked-in at 10pm on Friday, 12th October 2012 and checked-out at 9pm on Sunday, 14th October 2012. This is the second time I am staying in the same R.T. Nagar hotel. I have already stayed in your hotel in October, 2010. I booked our room on-line thro your web-site. I have booked for a COMFORT ROOM which is more costlier than a DELUXE ROOM.
We checked in and we were given Room no. 103 by the reception staff. We checked in and after freshening up, I found out that the room was very smaller than what I have stayed during my last visit. I called the reception immediately and questioned if I was given a comfort room. The staff at the reception said that he has given us a deluxe room. I told him that we have booked a comfort room and asked him to change me to comfort room. Then he changed us to Room no. 115. We took all our luggage and moved to Room no. 115 from Room no. 103.
After 30 minutes of checking in Room no. 115 we found out that the Air-conditioner was not working in that room. We called the house keeping and they said that they will send someone. No-one turned up. We repeatedly called another 2 times and even then no-one came. The time was already 11.30pm and we were very tired after a long travel. We called the reception and asked him what can be done. He said that he will speak with the house keeping and call us back in 5 minutes. He never bothered to call us. We were very tired and slept sweating without air conditioner.
Next day morning on Saturday 13th October 2012, we called the house keeping at 10am. A gentleman (maybe he is the only honest genuine truth speaking person working in the entire nandhini group of hotels) who picked up the phone at the housekeeping honestly told us that the air conditioner in Room no. 115 has failed long back and does not work anymore. He clearly said that Room no, 115 is a non a/c room. He asked us to call the reception and request them to change the room. I immediately called the reception. A lady spoke up told that she will change the room in 30 minutes time. We waited. We called again and again and got the same reply everytime that it will be changed in 30 minutes. We got fed up and left for our evening work.
Then when we returned back at 10.30pm in the night, we stood in the reception and politely but sternly said that we need a change of room (or) we are checking-out as we cannot sleep another night sweating in a non a/c room. Then after 30 minutes, they gave us the key of Room no. 215. We again took our luggage / laptops and changed ourself to Room no. 215. The air conditioner was working fine in Room no. 215 and we slept peacefully.
Then on the day of check-out on Sunday, 14th October 2012 – I asked the reception to waive me the difference amount for the A/c and Non A/c room. There was a lady and a man in the reception. The man very rudely told us that a waiver is not possible as there are no non a/c rooms in the hotel. I told the man that if a/c does not work in an a/c room it is called non a/c room. We have slept in the sweat and we need a token waiver atleast. The man was sitting and not even bothered to get up for respect and just kept on repeating not even looking at our face. We asked him if he can show some respect. He started laughing like a moron and abused us something in some local language to the lady receptionist nearby. We got much irritated and did not speak to the man and asked the lady if she can do anything. She very politely denied that she cannot give any waiver.
We then asked for the manager’s number. The lady now rudely said that she cannot give the manager’s number. We sternly said that we need to talk to the manager. She said that she will ask the manager to call our room before we check-out. We then went to our room, had our dinner, packed our luggage and left after 1 hour. Noone bothered to call us. Even while paying the bills, I asked the lady what happened to the manger’s call? She just did not care to reply. The man was still there laughing at us. We were much embarrassed and left the hotel feeling cheated.
Some questions to put thro to the management of Hotel Nandhini
Why were we checked in a DELUXE room even after paying for a COMFORT room? Is’nt this just cheating that the customer will not know what kind of room he is staying in. Only because I have stayed here already I could recognize that we were not given the proper room – THIS IS CLEAR CHEATING!
Why were given a room where a/c does not work (Room No. 115) even though the reception / the management knows that a/c does not work in that room. – THIS IS CLEAR CHEATING!
Why were we bluffed by the housekeeping & reception that someone will be sent to repair the air conditioner ) even though the reception / the management knows that a/c does not work in that room. – THIS AGAIN IS WASTING OUR TIME, LYING WITH CONSENT AND IS CLEAR CHEATING!
Why were we not given a new room immediately when the housekeeping manager confided that a/c will not work in Room no. 115. Why did the lady in the reception take us for an ugly ride? – THIS AGAIN IS WASTING OUR TIME, BIG IGNORACE AND IS CLEAR CHEATING!
Why did the male receptionist behave that way to us who had just a very fair and true complaint? To be very straight and clear he behaved like an IDIOT thro his STUPID laughter at us. He did not even bother to get up from his chair. Can’t he get up from his chair and apologise politely to a guest. Infact, persons like them should not be given ties. They should be made to wear only underwear and kept outside the hotel. He was such a bug man – really. I photographed him so that he does not escape. – THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOUR BY A RECEPTIONIST IN A HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY IS HIGHLY CONDEMNABLE. THIS GUY MUST BE PUNISHED.
Why did the female receptionist lie to us that she will ask the manager to call our room before we check-out but never bothered to? Why does she lie to a guest? .– THIS KIND OF LYING AND BLUFFING BY A RECEPTIONIST IN A HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY IS HIGHLY CONDEMNABLE.
Why could not the manager call us and clear the air? Is there really a manager (or) not? .– THIS KIND OF IGNORANCE BY A MANAGER IN A HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY TO HIS GUESTS IS HIGHLY CONDEMNABLE.
TO SUM UP, IF THIS IS THE WAY HOTEL NANDHINI CHEATS & TREATS THEIR GUESTS – TAKE MY WORD, HOTEL NANDHINI WILL BE HISTORY VERY SOON! I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO STAY IN YOUR CHEATING CROOK HOTEL ANYTIME AGAIN.
I really don’t hope to get any reply for this feeback (or) teach a lesson to you bunch of crooks. I am forwarding this letter to many just to show you that we can atleast show to the world your real criminal cheating face.
