Was looking for accommodation few days back for my cousins visiting Mumbai. Since their work place is in Andheri, we preferred it as a location.
One of my colleagues told me about Hotel Paradise in Powai. Since I was not familiar with the name / hotel, I googled and found a website. Pictures there gave me a feel of it being some Rajasthani theme based resort. The site mentioned the hotel being close to nature, which was hard to beleive. So I decided to visit the place myself before booking a room there.
I went there on a rainy day and just fell in love with the place. A resort overlooking Vihar Lake and Sanjay Gandhi National Park, lush greenery in the resort. I mean I was just crazy. It gave me a feel of being in a hill station Lonavala / Igatpuri.
I immediately booked a room there. BTW since its an old construction, the rooms are not as good / posh as compared to 3-4 hotels in the vicinity. But for the price(just Rs 2000 for a double room including breakfast) and the location, I accepted the deal.
My cousins stayed at the place for 3 days and they also enjoyed the stay. They compromised with the quality of the rooms or the service quality. On second day there was no electricity in morning. But the manager at the resort requested us to bear with them for that day. They have got a generator which shall be operational in few days. Cousins were ok with it as they had to spend the day at work anyways.
Food quality is good.
Service quality needs to be improved. But for the location and the type of resort it is, its not such a big deal.
Overall I would rate this place 5 star for the location and 2.5-3 star for services and rooms. Re-doing the rooms will ruin its beauty.
Highly recommended if you are planning a weekend trip within Mumbai.
The manager also informed that they are developing this place as a outbound training center. I am looking forward to it as this location will save my travel time and gives me all facilities and infrastructure required to organize an outdoor team building activity.
