Average hotel: Not bad

It is a quite nice hotel although there is always scope for improvement. The lobby is nicely decorated and quite spaceous. There is a money changer desk. There were supposedly a massage parlour too, we never availed it anyway ... The room we stayed was 615. It was spaceous. There was a 3 piece sofa set with a center table.

The amenities included a cooler (which, fortunately didn’t make much noise and could be regulated), a dressing table, a mini fridge. Bathroom had a bath tub. No balconies. Broken windowpane.

They aligned two single beds to prepare a double bed. The beds didn’t quite fit in, hence a prominent gap remained in the middle. Funnily - they never tried to obscure it by covering it up with a double bedseet (as most hotels do ...) Moreover - they gave us two distinct blanket !!! Couples beware :)

Housekeeping did happen. Room service was prompt. We had buffet breakfast. The first day it was good with Bread butter, Puri, three type of curries, boiled as well as fried eggs, canned juice ... The next day’s was flop. Only bread butter, parantah (very very oily) , something like alu tikki, only fried egg and juice. No curry, no boild eggs

The revolving resturant was interesting. An experience in itself. It has a view of the Taj as well. They have a bino installed for viewing it up close! Food is pretty average. Chicken biriyani was a disaster. They however, had a great variety of items to choose from!

The place is NOT that close to the Taj as it claims to be. It is atleast 3-5 km from the eastern gate. People should try the following hotels - Hotel Sheela, Taj Khema and Oberoi Amarvillas (in that order) if they wish to be real close to the Taj. (Note: The tiket counter would be a bit far from these hotels)

The staff was fairly helpful and wel behaved. They were however not at all able to answer tourism related queries. They charged me 500/- bucks to pick up from the Cantt station. It was damn expensive but I had no choice as I got there at 1130 pm ... Overall I liked my stay and would like to recommend the hotel to others.
