Recently I planned a trip to Mysore and booked a Luxury A/C Double Room (There was nothing luxurious about the room). I stayed there from 5th July, 2009 to 7th July, 2009 in room no. 204.
I booked the room through makemytrip.com and they charged me approx Rs 1500 per day whereas on reaching I found the same rooms were available for Rs 1375 per day. After my return I complained them and now if you go and check the rooms are available at Rs 1375 only.
Coming back to hotel the A/C of the room was very old and was not working properly. The mats were very dirty and can soil your foot. The towels were used one and were not cleaned. For two people they provided only one soap bar for two days. There were no other amenities. The remote of the TV was not working properly and TV signals were very week.
The Hot water was not available and whenever we need hot water we need to call reception. On 2nd day even after calling Hot water was not available. The bedsheet was not washed and the blankets were torn. It gave the feeling of begger when we were using them. Also never book taxi from hotel travel desk as they charge very high. For local sightseeing they quoted Rs 1250/- and for ooty Rs 2250/- for non ac indica whereas I got for Rs 950/- (Local Sightseeing) and Rs 1700/- (Ooty) all inclusive from Odyssey travel located just outside the bus stand (in front) in basement.
Some good points: Near to market and Bus Stand, Roof top restaurant (View of Mysore Palace when it is illuminated on Sunday was awesome), near to Mysore Palace., food was good, Buffet Breakfast @ Rs 49 per head was good.
