In the month of August, 2007 we as a family travelled from Chandigarh to Shirdi for a pilgrimage. We de-boarded from the Jhelum Express at Kopergaon, which is about 30-45 minutes Auto ride from Shirdi, being the nearest railway station. Having already booked into Sai Leela via travelmasti.com we were well received at the hotel. The building although looked great in the web post was old and not very well kept . The lawns were uncut and uncared for.
The hotel boasted of 4 ambience but the same was missing. The most beautiful part about the place was the friendly staff and the prompt service. The hotel has a good amount of open area around the structure which came in handy to keep the kids busy. They also claim to have a great swimming pool, but on visiting it was found to be a small, less than standard pool mainly for soaking it out & not for serious swimming. The hotel provides complimentary drop off and pick up to the Shirdi Mandir via Maruti Van which was very handy.
The rooms were reasonably sized and clean although I found the bathrooms really moist due to the absence of exhaust fans. The restautant serves good food, all vegetarian ofcourse but the pricing is a little above, expected. The hotel also arranged for a taxi to visit Nashik where we went to, after the darshans at Shirdi. Hotel is okay for the money charged but the over all ambience needs to be improved, drastically.
