Sangeet is a nice cosy hotel nestled at one end of Mall Road near to Clarke’s Hotel. I had been a regular here since my school days since rentals are very cheap (Rs. 1100 peak season and Rs. 550 off season). This hotel is full no matter what time of the year you go because of the tarrif. However, I must say that the management of the hotel has become complacent and is not the least bit concerned about the guests. All they want is that all rooms should be let out no matter what they have to do about it.
They have "I Care A Damn" written all over their foreheads and are not the least bit courteous. As mentioned, I have been a regular there for more than 7 years, still I am treated as if I am a new guest and no special treatment is provided to me. This year I went to Shimla on a holiday with my family after a long time and ensured that I booked the rooms well in advance. I got a confirmation call from the owner of the hotel in the morning on the day of my booking enquiring about my travel plans. Despite replying positively and assuring him that I will be there, I reached Shimla to find that he had let the rooms to some one else since I got a little late in reaching. Since it was a long weekend I did not get a place to stay in Shilma and had to return back to Delhi the same day. The ownerof the hotel offered no help at all.
I will strongly advice everyone to go to Shilma but NEVER STAY IN SANGEET HOTEL. Let us all get together and make them realize that without us customers, they are nothing.
