This was also the place where I had savoured North-Indian and Chinese cuisine for the first time. But its been long since then and Saravana Bhavan and the food scene in Chennai has changed to a great extent.
But enough with the nostalgia, nowadays there are way better places to have North-Indian and Chinese cuisine than Saravana Bhavan but theres no question that theyre still the big name when it comes to South-Indian cuisine, especially in the "tiffin" variety.
You really cant go wrong with the South-Indian food here, theres nothing I can specifically point to or recommend as a specialty, because everything here is good in equal measure.
The coffee too is a must-have and its known to find itself in most top-ten filter-coffee lists originating in Chennai.
