I stayed in Hotel TTDC, Ooty from 7th July, 2009 to 10th July, 2009 in Cottage No. 202. As I have stayed in Govt. Hotels of Maharashtra(MTDC) which are very good and reasonable therefore I decided to give try to TTDC. I booked the cottage online on https://ttdconline.com. There is very weired rule that online booking can be done only 15 days in advance or before. I dont understand the logic behing the same. Anyways there must be some funda.
On reaching the hotel I was amazed that concept of Cottage is under threat. I was provided a big room in separate section of Hotel which is called as cottage. As I have visited Goa and stayed in cottages therefore it was shock. There were 4 cottages in that section of building and for the first time in history I saw cottage on 1st floor. Anyways it was as good as room, there was small gallery attached with room(Where children can play cricket). The room was very big and the interior of walls were exposing themself because of moisture or rains. The room was stinking. Good part was that there was small children room attached to main room. The children room was good and nice. In terms of cleanliness and Hygiene it was so-so. The fitting in washroom were very old. The mug and bucket was leaking. The windows were vey dirty.
The garden outside was nice but slight ahead of same was dumping ground for waste. Only food available in hotel is only south indian food and that too on buffet basis all 3 times. Only good hotel nearby is Hotel Nahar Palace(1 Km from TTDC). You can take shortcut through staircase of Indian overseas bank while going towards charring cross. The check in and check out time is 10 AM which is not convenient at all whereas for rest all hotels it is 12 noon. Since I was travelling with 8 month old child therefore I requested reception staff to extend my stay by half an hour and I will checkout by 10:30 but they refused bluntantly given the fact that other so called cottages were vacant and they could have easily accomodated.
We were getting room in Hotel Paradise @ Rs 1200/- which were damn good and much better but since we aishwaryasingh23ed therefore decided to continue with TTDC
Some good points 1. Working Staff was very good and courteous 2. The wine was damn cheap(Compared to Maharashtra) 3. Location(Though it is slightly off route)
