Never trust hotels.com … they’re a big fraud company…go for makemytrip.com ….they’re more professional!!!
\My name is Ajit… I’m just here to warn people about making any bookings on hotels.com…At first glance they may look very professional, but trust me when something goes wrong they’re just a bunch of con artists, who don’t care about the customer. When I was leaving to Bangkok I booked a hotel for a couple of days and used net banking to complete the transaction…after entering the details the transaction was complete but I didn’t get a confirmation from them.
When I called their HORRIBLE customer service (which is filled with incompetent and misleading people, who think talking with a fake accent can make them seem competent) they told me there are no records of a transaction in their account and to make the booking again…They also assured me that hotels.com “does not encash transactions where confirmation are not sent” (a load of crap) and said my money will be credited in 48 hrs. When I came back after 6 days I saw it wasn’t and called them. After 6 calls and having to explain the entire scenario to 6 different people, they finally issued a reference id and complaint and said in 24 hours someone will call you, get your bank details and you should get your money back. Not once has anyone called!
I’ve always been the one following up with them and this has gone on for WEEKS!!!! And the sad part is each customer service representative tells you a different story and makes you run behind them all over again. It’s now been over 25 days since the incident and I still haven’t gotten my money back. And just for those of you wondering the amount is like 15 k. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a booking company online. I heard makemytrip.com has a separate number to call in case of refunds and mistaken transactions and the matter is solved in a couple of hours and your money is credited the next day. I certainly know I’m going to start booking with them from now on. My advice to every one of you is don’t trust this scam company…. Unless of course you have money to throw and the patience of a monk to put up with their terrible customer service executives!!!
