I don’t know why there was so much hype over this movie. When I went and saw House of Wax at the cinemas and was expecting a good movie, because of the huge budget it had. The movie is a remake of the 1953 thriller that was a blockbuster hit. It follows 6 college students who set out on a road trip before one of the biggest football games of the year. Along the way they encounter car troubles and are forced to make their way to the nearest town Ambrose. It is there that they uncover the towns main attraction, Trudy’s House of Wax. THey sense that something is terribly wrong with the town and slowly uncover its many secrets. As they begin to do so a mysterious killer stalks their path, determined to stop them. I found the movie to be boring and over dramatised. The fact that they cast Paris Hilton for one of the major roles was seriously a bad decison, becasue it is obvious throughout the film that she can not act. The best performance was by Chad Michael Murray, who gave a somewhat believable interpretation of his character. This movie was a real dud for me, and I normally really enjoy horror flicks.
