Never buy furniture from Housefull

I went to Housefull furnitures, Thakur Mall, Dahisar, on Feb 26, 2013. I liked a bookshelf on display, with the sale tag on it, and wanted to purchase it. The attendant said it is sold out, and they forgot to take the "for sale" tag from it. Seeing me disappointed, the attendant said he could check with their other stores if they had the same product on sale. Good news! it was available. So I placed the order, full payment. They said since they have to deliver it from another store, so it might take a few days. I was fine with it. Then they said just to be on the safer side, they shall put the delivery date 2 weeks later. They promised I would get my shelf in a maximum of a week. I trusted them. Big mistake. I said fine with it.


My bill was made with the delivery date mentioned "before 8th march, 2013". I went home happily expecting the shelf to arrive in a week.I called the customer care after a week, and they said it would come on 8th, and not before that. Those were their rules! I was sad, but I had no option. Had to wait.Then I called on 8th, and they said it is not yet schedule for delivery. I had to give them a piece of my mind, and they said they will deliver it the next day, which also did not happen. Then the shelf finally arrived on 10th. To my surprise, it was not the shelf. There were just a few boards. The delivery man said the carpenter will come in the next 48 hrs and assemble. I was not informed of this prior to that.


So I called the customer and argued in vain. Finally the carpenter came on 12th to assemble it. He opened the parcel and said, some boards were damaged. He informed his department and left.


Then I got a call from them saying I would receive a replacement plank in the next 6-7 working days! I had lost it by then.I filed a complaint with their complaints department. They said they will replace it as soon as they can, and send the carpenter along this time.


Today is 23rd March, and I am STILL WAITING for the replacement and the carpenter. I have called the customer care a million times for nothing. Its ridiculous to wait for a month just to have a bookshelf! I will never ever buy a furniture again from them.
