Housejoy - Don't use them for anything

With the anticipation, I will receive atleast a decent service, I booked an electrician for geyser cleaning and below is the feedback I shared with housejoy -


I wanted a simple cleaning of my geyser so that heating efficiency is improved. The way he was opening the geyser made it clear, he has come to damage the item rather fix it. While cleaning he broke one of the internal pipes and the power led of the geyser and while fixing he messed up something that the working thermostat is not working anymore. He charged 250 Rs for thermostat and Rs 500 for servicing.


Effectively, it was a win win deal for me. A perfectly working geyser has a broken LEDs, thermostat repaired and internal pipe broken. As the LEDs are broken no way to know if your geyser is working or not. Thanks Housejoy for providing with awesome professionals who care less for your customers.


My geyser would have lasted for couple of years more. Now I don’t think I will trust this geyser for more than this winter.


Word Of Advice to Readers -


Guys, always find a trusted repairman from your society rather than using these services.  You will always end up paying more.


Not sure what is the best solution to this problem as the skill level and professionalism varies from people to people.

Update: 21/06/2016(Next day) -


As the inlet pipe was broken by the service provider, the hot water started coming in all the taps in the house and after some time, I saw boiling water coming out of the outlet pipes in the geyser. Luckily, my kid has just come out of the bath in time.


A perfectly fine geyser cannot be used anymore. I am not sure if housejoy will take any responsibility of fixing this or will blame it to service provider and wash their hands off.


It appears like calling service provider will cost me another 1000 bucks.
