The film makers of romantic comedies have always been obsessed with New York. A city which never sleeps, where the definition of love/relationships always changes.
In the backdrop of New York City, Alice(essayed by Dakota Johnson) is trying to figure out how being single or being in a relationship works. Alice has the help of her outspoken, bold friend Robin, whose character is played by Rebel Wilson. Robin’s dialogues and one-liners are hilarious. Dakota Johnson is also believable as Alice. The movie’s main focus is to show how dating culture has significantly changed in today’s date. The whole movie is about the struggle of young people in understanding the dynamics of being single.
Same city, same kind of story with fresh faces, that is what’How to be single’ is all about. Just a one-time watch’chick flick’.
The music is good and so is the acting, but that is about it.
If you’re into rom-coms then go for it, or else watch something else like Neerja or Spotlight.
