Most of us are familiar with Dale Carnegie and have read one or the
other book by him. I feel this is his most important and remarkable
work. Writing a review on Dale Carnegies book is not of
much significance, but it will be useful for those who just heard
his name but dont know much about his work.
In todays tension-filled world, no one can say that he has no
worries. Even previously, one or the other worry had been troubling
some of the most successful and richest men. This simple worry
led to anxiety, resulting in severe ill-health, nervous breakdown and
failures in future life. Everyday we read in newspaper or hear that a student
committed suicide just because he was not expecting good result and
was worried that he might fail. You see, the result is not yet
declared, but he ended up his life. Sometimes we hear that a
businessman committed suicide because of heavy financial losses.
This book tells how sometimes we just clog our brain with unnecessary
worries, but later, as time passes by, most of our worries get buried
themselves without our effort. This is not a book but a guide.
It teaches how to live life every second. The book does not contain
lectures alone on Stop worrying...Stop worrying, instead it is
packed with real-life examples of successful people. The same people
like you and me, who once tortured themselves with one or the other
worry, and suffered severe health consequences. In this book, Dale Carnegie
has compiled his talks with those, now successful people, as to how
they were able to eradicate worry from their life. How they managed
their life at the time of failures and heavy losses?
This is not a book to be read once and speedily as a novel. Instead,
it is a workbook. It is a book which is still on top of the desk
of many successful men. Even being the author of this book, Dale Carnegie
always kept a copy of it with him. This book always remained on top
of his desk. He used to read a few pages whenever in got some spare
time from his daily activities. Not only will this book discusses
techniques to eradicate worries, but teaches to be more productive
in our work and live an energetic and meaningful life.
This book has given me wisdom as to how to live a responsible life.
It is upto you, either:
Start Worrying and Stop Living, or
Stop Worrying and Start Living.
It is a MUST HAVE book for everyone. Afterall, if one is internally
happy only then he can contribute to make a happy world outside.
