Dream work comes again with a brilliant master piece. It sure follow the row of Madagascar and kung fu panda. I am eagerly waiting for the film after reading a lot of positive reviews. And yesterday its released in india.(US march 26th).I am one who enjoyed its first day first show.
Like every Hollywood film its based on 2003 children novel written by British author cowell.
Plot: Hiccup(if I am not wrong) is son of viking chief of a village. The village is beset by dragons which raid villagers food stocks(cattle etc).Hiccup father also chief is an expert in killing dragons always worry about his son who is not good at fighting on dragons. So he enroll him for summer camp(training to kill dragons).Villagers who believe dragons are there enemies maintain a book on dragons explaining how dangerous they are well missing one NIGHT FURY.Hiccup also believes the same until he accidentally hits a Night fury. Poor Night fury lost her tail wing(she cant fly).
Now the real fun begins: TOOTHLESS(Night fury pet name by Hiccup) will become pet of hiccup.Hiccup came to know that there beliefs are wrong(dragons are dangerous) and he even make fancy artificial tail for Tooth less. while helping Toothless to fly hiccup got extensive appreciation on "How to befriend dragons".He used to show his befriending skills on imprisoned dragons in summer training camp and now he is hero of village.Later He came to know that dragons are attacking there villages not for there food but to feed a killer gigantic dragon. Well need less to say the remaining part of story is how he ends that gigantic dragon and change the beliefs of villagers is happy end of plot.
WHERE IT WINS: Though the story seems to be cooked and baked one the real fun is how plot rides on us. Its perfect perfect to start with 3d effects(I personally feel it wins over Avatar), Comedy, Adventure and TOOTHLESS. One can relate a lot of scenes to avatar. Flying on dragon and trying to tie knots well bonding with dragons still still this piece can occupy some space in our hearts.
VERDICT: An excellent master piece and must watch along with family or group of friends.
