Howrah has been the oldest place in kolkata. Its little bit separated by the rest of the city by Howrah bridge. My idea about howrah was narrow and little until my marriage. My inlaws stays in Howrah shibpur area. so my childhood memory was upto Howrah station. Not beyond that. So after my marriage I slowly known the place. Its quite like old kolkata city, congested, narrow lane, little shabby, roads not good. But if we look after all these problems its good place to stay.
If we cross the bridge we can shop from burabazar the best and cheap place. Then Eden garden is nearby, babughat from where launch service available. Recently West bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee shifted administrative building nabanna in shibpur. So it became very well connected to all parts of kolkata. Foods are cheap and good quality vegetables and fish. Shivpur BE college one of the renowned engineering college. Howrah now well built and important administrative place.
