Compaq is private and seprated brand but it is bought by hp few years age, main proablem with this laptop that it has high heating proablem it requires a good ventilation or a cooling pad /stand under this because it heats a lot and if I say about its performance then it is worst it is so slow that you would think to burn the system because it is extermly slow and it does not support windows 10 so now a days it is total waste of money to buy it so I will highly recommend not to buy such stupid items
