I have this printer since late 2012 and why have I kept it still God only knows. I thought it would be a cheap utility printer that I would be able to use occasionally.
How wrong I was.
First of all its cartridges are very expensive. You buy a few of them and you will soon exceed the cost of the printer
Its cartridges even if they would have given half the no of pages as advertised I would have been satisfied but all they give are about 20-30 pages and the ink level goes flat. The black seems to disappear faster than the colour cartridge
Every time you install a new cartridge the printer compulsorily will waste one page on printing the alignment page. If you cancel it it will print it the next time and so on
Many a times you have to connect and remove the usb just to get the printer working or reinstall the driver software.
At times when everything is on and showing as connected yet the print will not come. Once I had given some 15 pages of print and not a single came. kept trying. they all got stored and next time when I wanted to print something else all these 30 pages came out. No matter how much I tried to stop it would not print till it printed the pages it had stored in its memory
The scan function works randomly.
Recently I had to replace its internal board and that was a costly affair too.
No more HP printers. Will move to the Epson tank based printers which are affordable and also the ink is much cheaper on the pocket
