Hello friends, by writing this review I welcome you all to the world of
'Hewlett Packard'(HP).I am a little late to write a review on this product as I purchased it 10 months ago.(Approx.)(5th February 2005).So coming to the product/company it's simply great.I have been using HP Printers/Scanners etc for around 6-7 years and was not let down when I bought the HP 4255 All In One after using their Simple Inkjet printer(Model-640p) for 4 years.I recommend HP 4255 highly to the people looking for low cost printouts.

My Observations-:
It's a cute to look at printer, very very elegant & is available in 3 colours--:
1.White
2.Black &
3.Red
A digital display is provided on the top of the printer to know what's the status of the printouts/photocopies being taken out.This indeed is an added feature which makes the whole package-'Value For Money'.Next is the printing quality.In my opinion it's the best I have seen so far.The printouts are crisp and clear.
Cartridges used in the model last for around 5 months with normal usage.These cartridges are the least expensive ones in the entire HP range & also through the software provided we can see that how much ink is left in the them.
Another cool thing is that, while taking out printouts you can even talk to your friends side by side.Due to the 2 extra trays attached to the printer, the printed paper does not fall out of the 'Paper Feeding Shelf'.The brushes provided at the end of the 'scanning screen' help in removing small particles from the paper which otherwise would hamper scan quality.
The numbered keys are very very soft and easy to use.
Before taking out printouts you can also select the type of quality to be printed.
For Eg- Low, High, Medium, Next to low etc.The software which has been provided with it is fairly easy to install and use.
Since it's a true review, I will have to list down it's short comings:
One minor negative point is that from the first month of it's purchase, the paper starts blocking in the small wheels present inside the printer which roll the paper out.After that it takes around 15 minutes or so to clear the jam. ooooooffff.....
If you use this printer as a telephone also then the no. of the person calling you is not displayed.(CLIP)The HP people should have added the CLIP Feature as to make it useful for people who are thinking of buying the printer.
In this printer you can only scan A4/A3 sheets(Bigger sheets/paper not allowed). Your hand prints, school books cannot be scanned as it does not have a flat screen.
So, if you are going to buy this model(HP 4255), keep the above 3 negatives in you mind.
Cost---: (A major issue!!!)
Seeing all the features, the printer is 'worth every penny'.In india nowdays due to it's popularity in some regions, HP Company is not in favour of lowering the price of the product.Dont worry it wont empty your whole pocket.Currently it is available at Rs 6245 approx...
On the other side the good thing is that the B/W Printout Costs--- Rs 1.29/PP
Colour Printouts Costs---Rs 2.05/PP
(PP=Per Page)
The cost of the cartridges---:
B/W= Rs 999
Coloured= Rs 1249
##I recommend that you should buy a new cartridge only after getting the old ones refilled to a minimum of 2 times.##
Conclusion:
A 'VALUE FOR MONEY PRINTER', suitable for most of the households.It has got all the features which are sufficient or which would satisfy you the most.
