Anyone switching from any prior version of Windows like XP, Vista, Windows 7 etc to Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 will be in for a jolt as most of the things are different and there is nothing called a seamless transition.
That apart, The PC is extremely slow. All programs run extremely slow, and it has nothing to do with the speed of the internet connection. It is difficult to even shut down the PC without going through a long process. I dont know if this is a trick on the part of HP to sell their higher range PCs.
I went back to the dealer and I was told to contact HP directly. I know from previous experience that HP outsources their customer support services in India mostly to a company called Reddington, who are notorious for their bad service.
