I bought a HP Pavilion dv2700t with the following specifications
Intel Core2Duo T9300 2.5Ghz
2GB RAM
250 GB Hard drive
Price: 905$
And it came with all the usual bells and whistles like a lightscribe dvd writer, fingerprint reader, dedicated 128MB nvidia graphics card, 12 cell battery.
Someone else had got the laptop for me. So when I received it, it was around 20 days old. So when I first got it, I immediately noticed that the keyboard was weird. The spacebar key was protruding out. Even some of the other keys were either lower or higher than what it should have been..
I contacted HP and asked for a replacement but they told me to send it back in for a replacement to which I agreed.
So for one week I was without the laptop. BTW I am doin my Masters in the US and so its a big deal to be without a laptop. When it came back I noticed that the keys still were not properly placed. The keyboard was so uneven.
Again I called them and they got back to me after 1 week saying it was a case of the Quality Case manager.FYI I kept mailing them twice a day for 5 consecutive days only after which I finally received a call back. This time I was adamant for a replacement or to get my full money back.
But the case manager was so rude and didnt even budge. Though it was their fault, they kept telling me to send it back again to replace the keyboard and it was not in their policy to replace the full notebook or give my money back. I spent 1 hour on the phone telling them that I cannot be without a laptop, and I had already sent it back, so why should I suffer again.
All in all it has been a very bad experience. I highly recommend not buying HP. Their customer service is pathetic and rude.
just stay away from them. Spend some more money if you have to and get any other brand. I had been using an ACER for 3 years and I never even had 1 issue with it.
Also one of my friends just ordered a DV4t and its keyboard also was out of place. So it just goes to show that HP has no Quality control at all.
Stay away....save your money......
