2601TX- bad product & poor after sales serv

I had recently purchased this notebook on 15/01/08.


It has a very good looks and I fell for the brand name and popular advertising.


BUT right from the day one it had lots of problem. It would start very slowly, then if played DVD or cd it would ’not respond get hang for over half an hour.


It has severe excessive heating problem on the left side of the laptop and the lower left side of the screen.


Everybody claimed that heating was normal. Due to my perseverance they had to admit that the fault was genuine. It took me 10 days to convince the HP service center that notebook was actually defective. Then I was offered a replacement after much haggling.


But till today I am being made to run from pillar to post. Yesterday the Dealer  told me to wait for another 15 days or may be more for the replacement to come.


Its been 16 days of making the purchase on making upfront payment, but I havent had 15 minutes of peaceful work on it.


Though labelled as the ultimate entertainment notebook it is far from it. it was dud. If the product was bad the Afte-Sales service was horrible. Even the dealer now admits that HP product have lots of trouble compared to An IBM / Lenovo or DELL.


Had he or somebody told me this earlier I would have not made this purchase.


Its a very sad feeling to own one product and at the same time label it this way. But thats the truth from my personal experience.
