I bought my HP Pavilion DV5-1002AU march 2009. As I went on using it the laptop is now no more a piece to be kept on laps because it heats up like a pan in 20-25 mins. The heat is also transferred to battery which inturn drains quickly. I went to local HP service center. They cleaned air ventilation, put thermal compound between AMD processor and heat sink but still the pan is not getting cold.
After investigation they told me it may be the AMD processor or ATI graphics card which is producing excessive heat. The heat sink and the fan are okay. Even the battery tested better life on Intel based laptop.
What do I need to do?
Buy new Intel based laptop?
or anything can be done on my laptop as exchange price is very poor.
