I recently had to open an account with HSBC as my new employer demanded so. Its common savings account and they also offered credit card along with it.
Even after requesting them more than 6 times(to send CC on my temporary adress) they sent my CC at my home town address(Goa) though I currently stay in Pune.
Calling customer service on non receipt of credit card did not fetch me any luck however the lady disabled my credit card and sent me a new one. I received it after 7 days and again at my hometown. Till than republic day sale was over and was of no use to me.
At the moment, I am trying to activate my internet banking( adding beneficiary) which needs usage of a security device(woaahh, what a tech savvy bank).
I received a device along with the banking kit of HSBC. Its a small phone like setup with numbers on it.
If I want to add beneficiary to my account, I need to use this device.
For using it you need to order it first
I do not need to order as I already have it
however, net banking offered by HSBC does not recognize anybody already having this device and makes it compulsory to order. No option of using the existing one.
If I have to use this device for OTP I need to link it to my phone number
For linking it to phone number I need to call customer service( minimum waiting is 20 minutes)
Once you call em u need to enter your debit card number
They have not linked my phone number to account(looks like as I did not receive salary credit message)
Customer service does not recognize my debit card number even after trying for more than 6 times
I AM NOT ABLE TO ACTIVATE MY NET BANKING
HSBC bank is not reccomeded
They pretend to be fancy however they are not even capable of offering a valid net banking service to this customer.
My Advice is not open any kind of a account or enter into deal!
