1) I have the card since 4 years and it always was a free for life card, every year there used to be a debit of annual charge and on calling the call centre, they would apologise for the mistake and reverse it , suddenly this year again there was a debit of annual charges and on calling up the call centre , I was informed that its not a free card and HSBC has stopped Free cards , and HELLO 2000 RS for a normal GOLD CARD , Its not a platinum card or a signature card . That too when the whole world is offering free cards and daily we get calls from DSA regadring Free cards ...even of HSBC
2) IS IT NOT NECESSARY to inform the customers in every given communication that this year it would not be a free card?
3) On getting no communication and thinking that my card is a free card, I do a balance transfer and also pay a fee of Rs 600 on it. Now its a waste as I could have kept the balance on my old card and would have not minded paying interest on it as It still would have been LESS THEN 2600
4) There was a small amount of 12.61 rs balance in my account , Which I was not aware , If I have made the entire payment , why would I leave that amount . usually we get communication from HSBC regarding payment to be made , its an insignificant amount, but not when you charge 500 Rs late payment and all the other charge .
I ams sorry to say that Once I used to say that HSBC card has the best service , but since one two years its going the way of other banks and disappointed to say that I am shutting the account and would not recommend this to anyone .
