I happen to have HSBC credit which I rarely used, I was foolish enough to start using this to pay for anything other than some insurance product, which is apparently available only to their customers and anyone who contacts the insurance company in question (very unique). Basically, the only obsession with this bank has is to shaft fees to those who pay on time. I was charged for exceeding my limit, apparently this technology obsessed bank is yet to implement a system where a transaction is declined for not adhering to their own limit. (ICICI has had this ages ago). They are quite obsessed with charging you all sorts of fees but, crediting their customers interest for overpayment because their own clearing system takes nearly 7 days to clear a local cheque is not a core competency. A totally confusing statement, besides their SMS any look at the online statement will never give you an idea about outstanding.
Besides taking ages to clear a cheque, your account gets debited 2 days before the acknowledgement for payment arrives by SMS.
4.Changing your postal address takes 8 days and a visit to the bank, finally the accepted proof was SBI passbook, so much for new age banking.
I should have stuck to the unique insurance product and kept this useless card at home, the EMI will run out in a few months, good riddance then.
