I have been a HSBC savings account holder for 3 yrs now and also have been a Credit Card holder from the bank. Other than this, I also have savings bank accounts from ICICI, HDFC, Centurion, Andhra Bank, SBI etc etc (I love having a lot of cards- dont bother about the money!) and credit cards from SBI and American Express. Believe me, HSBC is the best!!
Never faced a problem with their ATM/ Net banking/ Phone banking/ and personal banking has always been a pleasure. I am talking about one of their smallest branches, which we have at Vizag and true to their slogan of being a local bank- they have done great market penetration with ATM’s at the best strategic points in the city and great service thru couriers. One thing which I found different when compared with all other banks is that all HSBC outlets, be it the bank or ATM’s or the website, they exude a special aura whereas the rest seem regular.
The best part was yesterday, when I went to apply for an FD and a credit card, the process took precisely 11 Mins. I am not sure if someone can beat that!!
This is not to put down other banks- see, ICICI sure has a wider range of services than HSBC and we are proud of the fact that it is a totally Indian bank. It is just that HSBC has mastered the art of combining terrific customer service with the best in banking and thats why it is loved by all.
However, there are a few points which are’nt so classy- like some of the staff members who have been working for a long time get a bit off hand and although they are fine with long time customers, it takes newbies a little time and tact to get used to them.
But, still, I would overall recommend this bank highly.
