HSBC is definitely one of the worst banks in India too. Being an Expat I figured I would be able to get good service and bank with a global bank.
They have given me nothing but trouble from the minute I set the account up. The number of security measures they have in place are in itself a hindrance to doing business and do not allow me as a customer to complete the simplest of actions.
Their phone banking is possibly the WORST I have ever seen. I think even a kirana shop owner has better phone manners and service than these guys! I had to answer around 25 personal questions with 5 different calls before they set up my phone banking pins correctly.
Each time it didnt work they did NOTHING to appease me - their customer. Only keep repeating the same sentences like robots. Some crappy customer service training that is! Also there is NEVER a supervisor around to help.
Also they have decided that I cant use my card for more than 50k a day??? Hello-- just bought furniture worth more so now what??? They have me on the phone and although my account has more money I now need to wait for 3 days to get approval before I can have my limit increased?? Are you kidding me? Am I a teenager with a credit card?
Ive reached my limit with them now that they have bounced 2 of my checks cause the signatures dont match????? and they have the gall to tell me that it is not their responsibility to inform me their highly secured customer cause they process more than 7000 checks a day?
DO NOT BANK WITH HSBC. It will be the worst mistake you make and a large portion of your time will go in trying to make their robot like phone reps do something - which they wont and then youll be asked to go into a bank location where you will be patronized and treated like a child.
