I am using HSBC gold card for the last 15 months. The card was offered to me free of cost. I have other credit card as well like ABN-Amro, SBI, ICICI, but I prefer to use HSBC card as I haven’t had any issue with this card. The credit limit offered by them is also higher than all other bank credit cards.
Sometimes their statement reaches late, however I do keep in mind the due date and check out the amount due by calling its Customer Care number. Nowadays, they have even started sending reminders of the amount due through SMS, well before the due date which makes it even more easier to pay on time. Also they do not charge any late payment charges , even if the check is dropped just two days before the due date and the same gets cleared well after the due date.
I am also satisfied with their service. Last month they offered me a free add-on Gold card with Rs. 100 credited to it. Since it was a new card I was not aware of the due date.They did not send me the monthly statement and neither did they send any reminder through SMS. As a result I failed to pay on time and they charged me Rs. 350 as late payment charges plus service tax. I immediately called the Customer care and explained to the executive about this. She immediately reverted the late payment charges and said the same would be reflected in the next statement. And in the next month’s statement they did actually reverted the late payment charges along with the service tax.
They also do not call to offer any frivolous offers with any hidden charges like other banks. I had very bad experience about this from SBI Credit card and I have discontinued that card.but thats a different story.
I am currently very satisfied with my HSBC bank Gold credit cards and use them without any worry. Since they have offered me two card with different billing cycles, I use them to my full advantage.
