A beautiful butterfly from a faltering caterpillar

There were rumors  back in june that HTC was working on a flagship android device to stop in slide in the smartphone market and to rival the Samsung galaxy s3 and note series.  And those were proved to be true yesterday when HTC released its flagship android phone , the HTC J Butterfly in Japan. Similar devices would be available for all countries in near future.  HTC has finally decided to adopt the trend of phablets to revive its smartphone user base.

*Disclaimer** - This is a specs review and not a complete review. The phone will be released in Q1 2013 in India and other countries. So wait till that time to get a full review.

*A few highlights of the Device is mentioned below.*

*Screen** – The phone comes with **a huge 5 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920** with an astounding **pixel density of 440 ppi, ** beating all other smartphones in the current market. On top of that the screen in **a super LCD 3** which is again a giant leap from the super LCD 2 screens in the market.  This puts both the iphone 5 and Samsung galaxy s3 to shame.

*Processor** – This device sports a **1.5 GHZ Snapdragon S4 pro quad core processor** and also comes with a dedicated gpu. This is backed up by a **2 gb dual chanel RAM.*

*Memory** – As said earlier it sports a **2 GB ram and has an inbuilt storage of 16 GB which can be expanded upto 64 GB using a micro SDHC card.*

*Camera** – Its equipped with **a 8 MP BSI camera** with dual led flash and **a 2 MP front camera.** Capable **of 1080p HD recording with f/2.0 aperture**.Other details about the camera hasn’t been revealed as yet.

*Battery** – The phone comes with a 2020 mah battery which is a disappointment considering that the Samsung galaxy series is able to beat it. But HTC does does continue underperforming in this section as always.

*OS-** This device has **Android 4.1 Jellybean out of the box with the HTC Sense 4.0 UI** . HTC has made some changes which has received some rave reviews from tech pundits.

This comes in **3 colours red , black and white and the design is wonderful**. The body is just **9.1 mm thick and weighs around 130 gms.*

More details will be added to this review as and when I get enough details, but it seems that HTC has finally decided to pull up their socks and make themselves a serious competitor.

Comments and criticism are welcome.
