After reading a lot about the Desire range of Android phones I bought HTC Desire Z in February 2011. The phone was nice and I loved it as it was my first touch phone.
In September 2011, the touch started giving me problems and I sent a mail to HTC helpline who asked me to submit the phone at the service center.
On September 12, 2011 the phone was submitted at Chandigarh service center. I was told that it will take 3 days to repair the phone. When I went after 3 days, I was asked to wait for 3 more days. Again when I checked with them I was told that the part is not available in India. The part will now come from Taiwan and will take more time. This was told to me on 17th September.
It has been 24 days today when I submitted my phones for repairs. Now when I enquire with the service center they tell me the part is not with them and have asked me to call the call center.
The after sales service is pathetic. No one is telling me when will I get my phone back. I am again using my Nokia E 63 for my work. Seems HTC has a big problem with service.
What is the point of selling a product in India when it cannot be matched with proper servicing? After 24 days, the company could have even brought the spare part from the moon, what to talk of Taiwan.
I am totally disappointed with HTC. I was planning to buy the HTC tablet but since my experience am looking at other options in the market.
I will NOT recommend HTC products to anyone at all because of poor after sales. I really regret now as I could have gone for a Samsung phone at the time of my purchase.
For the record, the HTC phone was deposited at Chandigarh Service station on 12 September 2011 and the receipt no given to me is S8S11091200024 by the service center.
