I bought the Explorer in June 2012 and on starting to use it with data connection, I started getting messages from mobile operator for missed calls. on investigating further I found that when phone is connected to data in GSM mode it s giving out of reach signal to voice callers.
I called up HTC help line and with lot of struggle they were ready to accept such problem and sent me the process to reset the phone . Which was to avail no benefit and I use to face same trouble and on contacting them again they told that it is to be taken to their service station and worst part of buying HTC product started. I had to keep on using the phone without data connection as I had no stand-by phone at the time. (you buy android phone and dont use data connection so that your caller can reach you!!!!! HTC must have some idea of stress that puts on user???)
Their service station have preset concept of problems about device and the Explorer being cheapest of the device they have low opinion on device.
On receiving the phone back, I found that problem is not yet corrected and the service station of Redington have no time to explore the issue faced by customer and service desk operators simply act as courier and will give simple instruction of receiving the phone and WOW security guard delivers the phone!!!!!
On asking the dealer from where I bought the phone in Vadodara, they said in such case the phone shall be replaced as you had come up with issue within 5 days of purchase.
But Redington is simply insisting that you need to give the phone to us second time and I am crushing myself for buying HTC instead of Blackberry to try with Android. They should have accepted the issue and come up with right solution rather putting the issue on back burner and fooling the customer around for long time.
So before you buy the HTC Explorer unbox and try out at the dealers itself with your own simcard that phone should be reachable when data connection is set in GSM mode and data connection is ON.
Particularly when phone is receiving or sending data in GSM mode some problem arises with Radio and it doesnt receive calls.Beware of this issue with HTC Explorer and service network they are using!!!
